Presentation
The Postgraduate Program in Biological Diversity and Conservation in the Tropics (PPG-DIBICT) aims to train masters and academic doctors in Biological Sciences, specifically in the Biodiversity area, to work interdisciplinarily in activities related to planning, teaching and management of conservation and use of living resources in natural or anthropized environments.
The program is linked to the Institute of Biological Sciences and Health (ICBS) of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL) [x2] and promotes scientific and technological research in an environment of discussion and scientific exchange between regional, national and international groups and institutions.
Specific goals
I. To train masters and doctors to work interdisciplinarily in the planning, execution, and management of activities related to the conservation and use of living resources, in natural or anthropized environments;
II. To train masters and doctors to work in public and private education (basic, higher, technical levels) in the Biodiversity concentration area;
III. To train masters and doctors to conduct scientific research on biological diversity and conservation in the tropics;
IV. To train masters and doctors to work in public and private organs and institutions of the administrative spheres of research, management and monitoring of the national biodiversity.
The program is recommended by the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel - CAPES, with concept 4 (four) in the area of Biodiversity.
The program is tuition free and full time.
